As one of the top five up-and-coming German actors, Rebekka Mueller is enjoying an exciting time as in international rising star. Mueller is set to co-produce and star in a television series based on the award winning “Black Tiger” comic book series. Beyond Time, Inc. presented the short film “Black Tiger: Hunter Hunted”, which was screened at numerous film festivals and won the “Spirit of Comic Con Award” (Wizard World Atlanta). Rebekka Mueller met the creators John and Priscilla Hervey at last year’s Comic Con near Los Angeles for an early addition. “It’s an honor to be part of the TV-series “Black Tiger”, stated Mueller. “I was so fascinated by the story of ‘Black Tiger’ that I also wanted to be a part of the creation as junior co-producer to connect with the German film and TV market and add an international flair to the show”. Mueller will be playing the combative but empathetic “Firebrand”, leader of the meta humans in the main cast. Additional confirmed cast members so far will be Robin Shou (Mortal Kombat), Angela Fong (former WWE Diva), Rico E. Anderson (Star Trek: Renegades), and Rap-Legend Kurtis Blow.
A German actress with Scandinavian roots, Rebekka Mueller works internationally. She is currently starring in two films, “Reeperbahn” (distributor Edel, available in stores and online on DVD and Blu-ray), and “Death Wish Zero”. Mueller received her first international “Best Actress” award at the LAIFF awards in Los Angeles for “You are Back”, which was directed by Igor Possewnin, the military advisor for Steven Spielberg’s Academy Award winning film “Bridge of Spies”. Mueller also starred opposite Christian Harting (Oberscharführer Busch in the Academy Award winning movie “Son of Saul“) in the film “Courage” by US director Jean-Luc Julien. “Courage” made it into the top 18 from over 4.000 submitted films in the famous 99 Fire Films Award competition during Berlinale 2015. Currently Rebekka Mueller is preparing her first cinematographic chamber play as junior producer and actress in co-operation with film and economy companies from Cologne, Germany. “Lieben und Leben lassen” (“Love and Let Live”) deals with the strong emotions between two women sharing a cell in a women’s prison. Filming is scheduled for July, 2016.
In 2016, Rebekka Mueller founded her own production company Salem W. Productions in Berlin, Germany and has been a freelancer at Redline Productions in Berlin. She has stated that she has aspirations to work with such filmmakers as JJ Abrams, Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Sofia Coppola, and Roland Emmerich. Mueller plans to relocate to Los Angeles soon.
