Warner Bros. Pictures and Heyday Films in association with Wigram Productions and Wychwood Picture Company will begin shooting “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2” principal photography in August, 2017. The casting directors are now auditioning talent for new lead roles including young Albus Dumbeldore, with additional supporting roles also being cast, both male and female. Filming will take place at the Warner Bros. Studios in Leavesden, England among other undisclosed locations in the United Kingdom. To be considered, all actors MUST have legal eligibility to work in the entertainment industry in London. Details below.
“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2” will be the second movie in a five-film series that is a spin-off from the Harry Potter film franchise, and will move deeper into an increasingly dark time for the Wizarding World, where Newt and other heroes have to decide on their allegiances. Newt will move his adventures across the Atlantic, with the story set in Paris and Watford, England. Recent plot rumors posted at IMDb are unconfirmed by Warner Bros. Studios.
Three-time Academy Award nominee Johnny Depp will now play a starring role in “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2”, with the expansion of his role as Gellert Grindelwald. Also returning is Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne, Independent Spirit Awards winner Katherine Waterston, British Independent Film Awards nominee Ezra Miller, two-time Black Reel Awards nominee Zoe Kravitz, two-time Domani Vision Award winner Dan Fogler, and Alison Sudol.
Primetime Emmy Award nominee David Yates will direct the film from a screenplay written by BAFTA Awards winner J.K. Rowling. Producing are Academy Award nominees David Heyman and Steve Kloves, along with Lionel Wigram and J.K. Rowling. Executive producers are Neil Blair, Danny Cohen, Tim Lewis, and Rick Senat.
“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2” is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on November 16, 2018.
