The Warner Bros. Pictures musical feature film “A Star Is Born” will begin shooting on April 10, 2017 in Los Angeles, CA. The casting directors are setting up auditions for starring and supporting roles, talent who can sing and/or dance. The project stars four-time Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper and Academy Award nominee Lady Gaga. Cooper will also produce and direct the film from an adapted screenplay that he co-wrote with Will Fetters. Four-time Academy Award winner Clint Eastwood will also produce along with Primetime Emmy Award nominee Bill Gerber, three-time Academy Award nominee Robert Lorenz, Black Reel Awards nominee Jon Peters, Academy Award nominee Todd Phillips, and Ravi D. Mehta.
“A Star Is Born” centers on showbiz ingenue Ally (Gaga), who falls for Jack (Cooper), an established male star, only to see their careers move in opposite directions. The original version premiered in 1937 and starred Janet Gaynor and Fredric March. The 1954 film starred Judy Garland and James Mason, who both won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress/Actor in a Comedy/Musical. The third version of the picture starred Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson. The movie was the second highest grossing film at the time and won Streisand two Golden Globe Awards; one for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Comedy/Musical and another for Best Original Song in a Motion Picture along with an Oscar for Best Music, Original Song. Kristofferson also won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Comedy/Musical.
“A Star Is Born” is scheduled to be release in theaters on September 28, 2018.
