Story:
John Mathews (Dwayne Johnson) runs a construction business and recently took out a loan to finance his bid to become the only distributor in the Midwest with its own hauling fleet. But when his son, Jason, is arrested after receiving a package containing 2000 ecstasy pills and is faced with a ten-year mandatory minimum sentence, John risks it all. He convinces an abitious U.S. attorney ambitious who believes that a drug bust can help her political career and DEA officer Billy Cooper (Michael Kenneth Williams) to let him go undercover to roust out a major drug dealer in exchange for a reduction in his son’s sentence. John’s employee, Karl Gibbons, hooks John up with Malik, and John sells him on the idea of using his truck fleet to smuggle cocaine. Cooper and the cops fail to bust Malik, however, and John gets impatient. Cooper and the U.S. attorney want to know the identity of Malik’s supplier and want John to play a waiting game. Their gamble pays off when Malik introduces John to supplier Juan Carlos. John agrees to transport drug money for Juan Carlos across the border, but he knows that he’ll be killed. He gives the DEA the slip and has Karl confront Malik at gunpoint to get Juan Carlos’s phone number, which leads the DEA directly to him. John eludes Mexican thugs and suffers a bullet wound, but the authorities nab Juan Carlos and Malik, and Jason’s set free. Karl gets a $100k reward while John and family relocate and start fresh with a new name.
