There is an open casting call scheduled for this coming Saturday, May 13th for both speaking roles and extras, for the drama feature film “Rocket Man”.
The movie will be filming this Summer at the end of August in New England (Newcastle/Damariscotta area in Maine). Additional filming will be taking place in O’ahu, Hawaii. You can send an email request prior to the open call for the audition sides.
“Rocket Club” is a heartfelt film with humor and a bunch of colorful supporting characters, and centers on a group of 12-year-old kids in Illinois who launch rockets and become great friends. The story then jumps to when they are in their 20’s, as the lead character, Weston, is finishing his father’s list of adventures, including going to Hawaii and learning how to surf.
“Rocket Club” is written, directed, and produced by filmmaker Bobby Davison of Davison Films. First assistant director is Priscilla Stafford. Cinematographer is Tony Nagy. Davidson, Stafford, and Nagy previously worked together on the Universal Pictures feature film “Jurassic World”, Davidson and Nagy as Assistant Camera, and Stafford as Key Set Production Assistant. Starring in “Rocket Club” is Shayne Hartigan playing the lead role of Weston Wright. Hartigan previously worked as an extras casting director for one of the industry leading casting companies, Sande Alessi Casting. All of the above also worked together on the Legendary Pictures feature film “Kong: Skull Island”.
“Rocket Club” Open Casting Call Details
The following is an open casting call for both speaking roles, and extras registration. There are 9 speaking roles available, with age ranges from 12 to 85, males and females. All ages and types are welcome to register for extra work. These are non-union roles. Speaking roles – $100/day. Extras – $50/day. Filming will be the end of August in the Newcastle and surrounding areas of Maine. Please bring a pen to fill out a registration form for extras, and be prepared to have your photo taken. Actors should bring a headshot and resume (if available) for speaking roles, and auditions will be in order of sign-in. The film’s director will be present for the open casting call.
