I want to chime in here about the many requests for information that I receive about how to get a screenplay produced into a feature film. There is no person who can post a few words of advice on a Facebook post about how to be a successful screenplay writer. There are many college courses that you can take, learning about not only how to be a good screenplay writer, but also how to promote and market your screenplay. Writers are contracted for specific projects, through their literary agents. Generally speaking, you need to be a member of the Writers Guild of America (or equivalent union), and be signed with a reputable literary agency. Your agent submits your material for specific projects. It is a complicated process with many variables, but it starts from there. I will say that if you have the knowledge and education and skills, you can create a crowd funding campaign at sites such as IndieGoGo (https://www.indiegogo.com), and try to produce your screenplay into a short-film. If that short-film is successful at the short-film festival circuits, etc., you can then try to get the project produced as a full-length independent film or studio feature film. Be prepared for the long-haul, and take the necessary steps to be taken seriously.
