Disney Channel is now casting lead and supporting roles for a made-for-television musical adaptation of the family-friendly classic film “Freaky Friday”, based on Mary Rodgers’ 1972 novel of the same name. Shooting will begin in October, 2017 in Vancouver, British Columbia.
To be considered, all actors are required to be legally eligible to work in the entertainment industry in British Columbia and in Canada. The Vancouver Actors Resource Guide eBook contains the information and documents for adults, minors, and foreign talent who would like to work as an extra or actor on film and television productions in British Columbia and Canada. All Actors Resource Guide eBooks are available here.
In this musical remake of “Freaky Friday”, 16 year old Ellie never gets along with her perfectionist mother, Katherine, who can’t stand some of her daughter’s sloppier habits. However, when Ellie magically trades places with Katherine, on the day before Katherine’s wedding, the two women develop a new appreciation of the challenges & triumphs they each face as they desperately try to navigate each other’s lives for one day.
Steve Carr (“Paul Blart: Mall Cop”, “Are We Done Yet?”, “Daddy Day Care”) is directing “Freaky Friday” from a script written by Primetime Emmy Award nominee Bridget Carpenter. Carpenter is also serving as executive producer. Production Companies are Storefront Pictures, Resonate Entertainment, and Ambitious Pictures.

NOTE:
Starring and supporting roles are mainly being cast through talent agents. You can find comprehensive listings and submission addresses for talent agents here. However, if you are not signed with an agent and wish to self-submit, I highly recommend that your 8×10 color headshot and resume along with the cover letter be sent in a 9 x 12 Clear Full Face Window Envelope with the photo visible in the window. Production Companies:
Do NOT send photos and resumes to the production companies, as they will end up being thrown away. They do not cast the films, rather they hire casting directors who sort through the thousands of submissions (see above).
