The independent feature film thriller “The Mule”, starring Academy Award nominated and Primetime Emmy Award winning actress Sharon Stone and Christian Slater, is currently casting the remaining lead roles, supporting roles, and day players. Also to be cast are extras, photo-doubles, and stand-ins for the film’s stars. Principal actor casting is taking place in Los Angeles and Salt Lake City, while all extras will be cast in Utah where filming will take place.
Gabriela Tagliavini will direct “The Mule”. Tagliavini won Best Director awards for “Perfect Lover” at the Santa Monica Film Festval and No Dance Film Festival, and she also wrote the screenplay and co-produced the film. Another directorial credit is “Ladies’ Night” which was produced by Walt Disney Music Company and won three MTV Movie Awards-Latin, was #1 at the box office in Mexico, and the soundtrack went platinum. This will be the second time that Gabriela Tagliavini has directed Christian Slater – they worked together on “Without Men” which co-stared Eva Longoria.
Nicolas Chartier, the Academy Award winning producer of “The Hurt Locker”, and Craig Flores will produce for Voltage Pictures. “The Hurt Locker” was Voltage Pictures’ first in-house production and won 6 Academy Awards in 2009, including Best Picture. Dean Devlin and Kearie Peak will produce for Electric Entertainment. Devlin wrote and produced such blockbuster films as “Independence Day,” “Godzilla,” “Stargate” and “The Patriot”.

[RAFAEL] Male (30s) Maria’s husband must speak Spanish.
[TOM COOLIDGE] Male Caucasian 60’s, He’s the weathered chief of the TV news department, with a hard face and friendly eyes.
[POLICE OFFICER] Male Hispanic 30-40s Mexican police officer, should speak Spanish.
[THUG] Male Hispanic 18-50 sleazy thug types, must speak Spanish.
[ENRIQUE] Male Hispanic a migrant in his 30’s nice guy must speak Spanish.
[RAUL] 30’S Male Hispanic Mexican relief worker, must speak Spanish.
[DOCTOR] Male Caucasian 40s a doctor working in a emergency room.
